Environment Management Module under Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship

Ekonnect as a part of its objectives intends to build institutional capacities by working with Academic Institutions on designing and delivering ‘courses’ on a structured, programmatic basis.

Ekonnect received a request from NMIMS, for designing, delivering and managing the module ‘Environment Management’ as part of their Part Time Management of Business Administration (PT MBA) Social Entrepreneurship Programme 3rd year batch.

Ekonnect successfully delivered and managed the entire coursework from the year 2012-2017.

Approach

The course structure and planning were finalized after considering the learners’ profiles and backgrounds, the previous course outline, the complete course information, the learning environment, the learning objectives, learning methods, materials and evaluation and monitoring concerns.

Apart from the in-house experts, trainers from outside with practical experience in the field are invited to take up sessions as Trainers, Panelists and Guest Reviewers.

Course outline was created based on a series of discussions with faculty and final outline was shared with NMIMS. Modules were structured based on the learning objectives of the main course of Social Entrepreneurship. Level or extent of knowledge was also decided based on the estimated requirement for application in the learners’ own work.

Each module was designed to be covered in two sessions over two weekends. In order to bring a learner oriented education, every second session was assigned to the learners in groups of three or four, to create, develop and present on topics learner in the first session.

Ekonnect sent a course plan indicating topics, faculty and pattern of assignments: Ekonnect planned the course plan with the idea of making the course as interactive as possible, centred around case studies and with added interaction with guest panelists from the field.
