Ekonnect has programs that delve into education, awareness and training and research addressing different facets of sustainability. Seminars and workshops are held mainly to bring diverse stakeholders together to address complex and emerging issues.

Our awareness programs comprise of community-based programs with activities creatively designed for imparting knowledge, triggering actions and bringing in a behavioral change. These programs are conducted at schools and colleges, government departments, corporate and the work-force.  Ekonnect also develops products such as Eko-calendar that are designed, printed and distributed every year carrying the message on environment and sustainable lifestyles.

Seminars & Workshops

Ekonnect holds seminars and workshops on topics that are emergent and pertain to issues that are complex. While seminars are designed to provide knowledge, share views through expert panels with opportunities for Q&A, the workshops are organized more towards problem solving or developing strategic solutions. Typically, workshops follow a group work approach. Ekonnect has Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI) and Indian Merchants Chamber (IMC) to hold such events.

We offer short training programs (half day to two days) designed for sustainability policy makers practitioners and communicators. Ekonnect uses unique pedagogies based on case work, field visits and using complements such as E-learning platforms.

Sustainability education is one of the important areas of interest to Ekonnect. We have developed education programs that are conducted in partnership with academic institutions as a regular course. These programs are conducted in different formats such as- e-learning courses, Face2Face learning and Blended learning programs. Programs that “Bridge” are also offered in the form of Finishing Schools at academic institutions.

Career Counselling

The subject of environment, its management and interest on sustainability attract the youth to undertake studies on environment at bachelors and master’s levels. Often there is a paucity of guidance, especially on how to make a career in this evolving interdisciplinary area. Ekonnect engages with the students and young professionals and offers career counseling programs, captioned DISHA that are designed uniquely by involving some of the established personalities who guide as well as inspire.

Holding competitions helps to encourage talent and stimulate innovations. We have been holding competitions on “green” ideas and practices , by asking participants to submit videos of their green stories and accomplishments under the banner “ANVYAYA” (means positive in Sanskrit).

Ekonnect recognizes the importance of entrepreneurship in promoting innovation and demonstrating “smart sustainability” so as to take the outcomes on a scale. To promote eco-entrepreneurship, we offer training programs that connect participants with “green investors”. In addition, we help in mentorship to help in preparation of business plans on the canvas of sustainability.
