Clean Air and Sustainable Environment (CASE) Project Training Programme

Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation (“EKF”), conducted a five-day training programme for the officials from the Department of Environment (DoE) -Government of Bangladesh in Mumbai from 25th -29th March 2019.

DoE in Bangladesh is implementing the Clean Air and Sustainable Environment (CASE) Project with the World Bank Group to catalyze the adoption of Sustainable Environmental Initiatives (SEIs) in key polluting sectors with a focus to abate pollution. This training programme was designed to help the DoE officials in improving their capacity in pollution Management in Bangladesh and in future other projects expected to be initiated for enhancing overall environmental management capacity.

The training programme focussed on the following topics

  1. Online Monitoring (stack and ambient air quality)
  2. Analysis of air quality data
  3. Ambient air modelling techniques focusing on brick kilns
  4. Innovative techniques on inspection of industries/ polluters
  5. Pollution management strategies focusing on common environmental infrastructure

Key faculty members with huge sector experience associated with various organizations were able to share their knowledge and conduct interactive sessions

In addition to the class room sessions, field visits to common environmental infrastructure facilities and industries around Mumbai were conducted.
