Capacity Development Programs in Environment Management

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region – Environment Improvement Society (MMR-EIS) has entered into an MoU with K J Somaiya College of Science and Commerce, to jointly develop and run ‘Capacity Development Programs in Environment Management’ with the objective of developing capabilities of local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders in the areas of environmental protection, improvement and monitoring.

K J Somaiya College of Science and Commerce will develop and coordinate capacity building programs that will combine understanding the science, economics and policies for urban environment management through discussions, field visits, group activities and case studies for application of best practices with experts across the country.

Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation is conducting two of the five modules under this diploma course: Environmental Policy & Regulations and Integrated Solid Waste Management.

Studying laws and policy became more interesting by this course. I learned viewing scientific things from a legal perspective-

All the acts concerning the environment are quite clear to me now. I have learned how policies work, how rules are made and how it can work on ground zero. . Also I learned, the process of being environmentally friendly is lengthy and have a lot to consider-
