Welcome to the Ekonnect Video Library!

The Ekonnect Video Library offers a repository of modules on key topics in the field of Environmental Management and Sustainability. These modules are complementary to university curricula and are practice oriented. Students and professionals will be able to benefit from them alike. The topics currently include environmental impact assessment, circular economy, sustainability, air quality management. More topics will be added as the members’ demand.

The video library provides an opportunity for the participants to post their training needs. On aggregating the matching requests, Ekonnect will announce blended training sessions featuring live sessions, offline videos and home assignments.

In order to grow to scale up the video library to an Academy, we request a small one-time donation of INR 799/- (US$11). Upon making this donation, you will be provided an access to the entire video library. The library would benefit the users by providing an access to  a repository of modules on key topics in the field of Environmental Management and Sustainability. Upon reaching our donations target, we propose to launch Ekonnect Academy. During this period, we will keep adding new videos to the library.

Why Ekonnect Academy?

Environmental education today is provided at school and university level. However, it is often not practice oriented. It also does not cover in detail the latest advances, field experience and innovative approaches to problem solving. There is also a shortage of senior level teaching experts and pedagogy is not customized for an enhanced learning experience. The Academy is expected to meet this need. The academy will offer course modules involving some of the renowned experts representing academia, business and governance.

Our vision is to create a collaborative platform for learners, mentors, academicians, and practitioners, which will form a virtual vibrant ecosystem providing infrastructure for supporting life-long learning on environment and sustainability.

We request your support and excitedly look forward to having you on board!

World Environment Day 2017: A Session on Carpooling

Background

Lift Kara De (LKD) is a carpooling initiative taken up by the enthusiastic residents of Whispering Palms Society in Kandivali, Mumbai. The group consists of about 256 carpoolers so far with numbers increasing every few months. Mr. Santosh Shetty, one of the key members of the Lift Kara De group had approached Ekonnect for calculating their individual/group emission reductions, fuel and money savings achieved so far from their ongoing carpooling activity. Ekonnect team members estimated these values based on the data received from the LKD group members which comprised of number of rides, distance travelled, number of individuals in a car, type of fuel and years of carpooling.

The results showcased that in a short duration of 5 years LKD members had achieved 1, 91,000 Kg of Carbon dioxide emission reductions.

About the Seminar:

Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation and SDG Foundation in collaboration with Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) are pleased to invite you to participate in one day national seminar focusing on Managing Industrial Air Emissions on 21st February 2018. The registration will start at 9.30 am.

Industrial emissions are regulated under the Air (Prevention and Control) Act to comply with National Ambient Air Quality Standards. Industries are required to use Continuous Emission and Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Systems and regular update on state of art innovations in monitoring instrumentation technologies . The “big data” created through CQMS, requires exposure to the state of art understanding tools for data analytics and modelling.

The subject of AQM has considerably evolved over the last few years. It is important that the industries, professionals and researchers get updates on the requirements of compliance as well as clearance. The increasing role of Judiciary also needs to be understood. Experience sharing is also necessary to know about the good practices & strategies adopted by some of the leading industries in monitoring and managing air emissions.
