Sameer Kulkarni
Principal Environmental Engineer
Sameer has been working in the field of impact assessment, agriculture-water-energy nexus, GHG inventorization, resource efficiency and cleaner production opportunity assessments for more than 4 years now. Some of his recent works are on developing GHG inventories for industries including chemical, manufacturing, oil and gas, and IT sectors, undertaking RECP assessment on water reuse and recycling in textile industries, implementation of decentralized waste management project, data analysis for developing state action plan on clean air.
At Ekonnect, Sameer is actively involved in organizing and conducting competitions and workshops for budding eco-entrepreneurs for capacity building and business advisory. Along with this, he is a key member of a team at Ekonnect that collaborates with corporates and CSR entities to strategize their CSR activities, support during implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. Impact assessment and needs assessment of watershed development projects, sustainable livelihood, and agriculture related projects are other major areas of emphasis.
Sameer has completed his master’s degree in Technology and Development from IIT Bombay, bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering from Pune University, and has been awarded with a fellowship from Tata Centre for Technology Design, IIT Bombay.
Sameer has a knack for data analytics and is proficient in developing MS excel-based toolkits, data visualization techniques, developing interactive dashboards, undertaking PRA activities, system dynamics study, and stakeholder engagement.
He is constantly looking for platforms to unlearn and learn, finding appropriate, data driven, evidence-based, and sustainable solutions to implement on ground. During work breaks, he enjoys playing drums, cooking, and exploring culture and history.
