Environmental & Social Governance (ESG) at Financing Institutions

In the last three decades and more so in the recent years, Financing Institutions (FIs) have been examining their investments from Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) perspectives apart from checking environmental and social compliance following law of the land. In order to do so, many FIs have established their own ESG, following IFC’s Performance Standards (PS) or subscribing to the Equator Principles (EP), UN Global Compact (UNGC) or Principles of Responsible Investments (PRI). Many a times, the requirements of ESG exceed the national laws.

How effective are the ESGs in addressing the investment risks? Do they add a value? Will the ESGs see a different avatara, post COVID-19 scenario? Through this webinar, join a discussion led by Dr. Prasad Modak (Executive President, Environmental Management Centre LLP and Director, Ekonnect Knowledge Foundation) who will explain the evolution of ESG at FIs and the expert panellists will share their practical experiences across sectors.

The webinar was a follow-up to the previous webinar on Panel Discussion on Environmental Clearance Process (watch it here on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTaqAyRiLI4)

This was the fourth webinar of the EIA Webinar Series and was attended by over 100 professionals.
